General Hood talked with reporters about the handling of the Quran, the Muslim holy book, at Guantanamo Bay detention facility. He explained the ongoing Commander’s Inquiry into the policies for handling the Quran. He also stated that the inquiry has found no evidence so far that a Quran was ever flushed down a toilet. A news story of such an incident, later recanted, caused rioting in Afghanistan that resulted in deaths. He talked about other alleged incidents of touching or other mishandling of the Quran. After his presentation he answered reporters' questions. close
