BookTV aired live and taped coverage from BookExpo America (BEA) at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in New York City. BEA is the largest book industry trade show in the United States. Over 1,500 publishers, 500 authors and 2,000 exhibitors met to discuss books, trends, education, and publishing-related issues. Programming on Saturday June 4 was from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. ET and the events were re-aired at 1 p.m. ET the same day.

Live highlights included: The Saturday morning Book and Author Breakfast with travel writer, Paul Theroux, author of Blinding Light, novelist Myla Goldberg, author of Wickett’s Remedy, CBS 60 Minutes correspondent Mike Wallace, author of Between You and Me: A Memoir, moderated by Air America’s Randi Rhodes, author of The Big Encyclopedia of Republican Hypocrites. The Saturday afternoon Book and Author Luncheon with novelist Nick Hornby, author of A Long Way Down, historian Simon Winchester, author of A Crack in the Edge of the World, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, author of Master Among Men: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln, and novelist Michael Cunningham, author of Specimen Days.
