Ms. Kirtley and Mr. Zuckman discussed the decision handed down by the Supreme Court on Cohen v. Cowles Media, in which the Supreme Court allowed a defendant who had been an unidentified news source for a reporters story and whose identity was subsequently revealed to sue for damages because of the revelation. Mr. Zuckman said the case was one in which the Court decided to make the ethics of the journalism profession into law. close
