David Rothkopf talked about his book Running the World: The Inside Story of the National Security Council and the Architects of American Power, published by PublicAffairs. It was a study of the National Security Council from its beginnings in the Truman administration to its role within the current Bush presidency. James Bamford, former Washington investigative news producer, interviewed him.

David Rothkopf is founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Intellibridge, a firm offering open-source intelligence and advisory services on international issues. He also served for two years as managing director of Kissinger Associates, and as deputy undersecretary of Commerce for international trade policy in the Clinton administration. He is currently a visiting scholar at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
