The 2005 Defense Base Closure and Realignment Commission held a regional hearing on the list of possible closures and realignments of defense bases. Elected officials and community representatives testified about the impact of closing or realigning military installations in New Jersey. The installations under consideration were Fort Monmouth, Lakehurst Joint Basing, Air National Guard 108th Refueling Wing, and Air National Guard 177th Fighter Wing. close
