Jeff Golden talked about his book As If We Were Grownups: A Collection of “Suicidal” Political Speeches That Aren’t, published by Riverwood Books. Jeff Golden urges politicians to start dealing with the American public as if they were adults. In the book are a number of speeches that the author wishes politicians would deliver. Mr. Golden asserts that the American public can handle facts and candidates should stop filling their political speeches with idealism and fiction. He also argues that it is incumbent upon the electorate to act responsibly. Mr. Golden read some examples of his proposed speeches and discusses the problem with the audience. close
