U.S. Supreme Court Justice Stephen G. Breyer participated in a one-hour panel presentation before the ABA House of Delegates on threats to judicial independence. Professor Charles Ogletree moderated the panel which focused on several issues including the meaning of judicial independence, the influence of special interest advocacy groups, the rigors of the judicial confirmation process, the challenges of interpreting law, and attracting persons of quality to the federal judiciary. They also answered questions from the audience. close
