Participants talked about issues affecting the black and minority communities in the previous Supreme Court term. They talked about the nomination of Judge John Roberts to replace Justice O’Connor who had announced her intention to retire in October, 2005. Among the topics they addressed were the judicial temperament of Supreme Court justices, criminal justice and discrimination cases brought before the court, the impact of decisions on minority communities, and the future of civil rights law. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
