Senator Feingold spoke about military operations in Iraq and efforts to combat terrorism. He said that the president should set a timetable for troop withdrawal from Iraq. Senator Feingold discussed how an open-ended commitment only invited further attacks on personnel stationed in the region and strengthened the resolve of terrorists and Iraqi insurgents. He also criticized other Democratic lawmakers for being too “timid” in their statements on the administration’s policies. Following his remarks, Senator Feingold responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
