The sixth hour of the 25th anniversary of viewer calls focused on the year 1985 and the Ronald Reagan presidency. Mr. Cannon talked about changes in the American political landscape as a result of the Reagan presidency, the conservative movement, and responded to questions and comments from viewers. Mr. Cannon’s books include Governor Reagan: His Rise to Power; Ronald Reagan: A Presidential Portfolio and President Reagan: The Role of a Lifetime, all published by PublicAffairs.

An interview with 25th anniversary essay contest finalist Mary McGinnis of Rupert, Idaho, as well as several clips from previous programs were aired.

The program was part of a 25-hour call-in marathon commemorating 25 years of viewer calls that began with television’s first-ever, regularly scheduled, national viewer call-in program on October 7, 1980, when the 19-month-old network televised a live viewer call-in program from the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. close
