Clergy and civic leaders from New Orleans, Baton Rouge and other Louisiana parishes led a delegation of churches from the People Improving Communities through Organization (PICO) National Network to demand a comprehensive federal response to protect displaced families, support communities bearing the burden of sheltering victims, prevent similar catastrophes, and rebuild New Orleans for all its citizens. They also discussed the impact of proposed Medicaid cuts, provided a first-hand update on the federal response, and shared details of a comprehensive plan for rebuilding families and communities. After they spoke, the delegation responded to questions and comments from reporters in the audience. close
