A Bipartisan informal hearing on exit strategies for Iraq was held. Representative Woolsey called for the discussions with a focus on how to withdraw American troops while fulfilling the obligation to the people of Iraq. Witnesses gave testimony on issues relating to the war, Iraq, and the politics of the Middle East. They generally agreed that the United States must announce it has no intention to maintain permanent military bases in Iraq or to control Iraqi oil. close
