Mr. McClellan spoke to reporters about the federal response to Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. He discussed the Presidents September 27, 2005 trip to the Gulf Coast region to assess coordination efforts with local officials. He also talked about immediate cash assistance for the hurricane disaster relief victims as well as operations in Iraq. Following his remarks, he responded to questions and comments from the reporters. Among the topics he addressed was the indictment of Representative Tom DeLay (R-TX) and the testimony of former director of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, Michael Brown. close
