The U.S. House Homeland Security Subcommittee on Emrgency Preparedness, Science, and Technology held a hearing about "Incident Command, Control, and Communcation during a Catastrophic Event. Witnesses testified about the effectiveness of the Incident Command System (ICS, a Federal Emergency Management Agency sponsored program, which facilitated improved training and coordination between local, state, and federal agencies during catastrophes. The witnesses discussed the communication, preparation, and training involved with Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. close
