The United States Senate Committee on Armed Services held a hearing on the nominations of former Pentagon acquisition chief Michael Wynne for Air Force Secretary and Northrop Grumman executive Donald Winter for Navy Secretary. Both nominees testified that ethics would be a huge priority for them and Mr. Winter agreed to recuse himself from any decision that raised a potential conflict of interest with Northrop. They also pledged to prevent sexual assaults and incidents of religious intolerance. Senator Warner, chairman of the committee, said he expected the Senate would confirm the two. close
