Members of the Men’s Book Club of New York City met with Mr. Murphy to discuss his book Rounding The Horn: Being the Story of Williwaws and Windjammers, Drake, Darwin, Murdered Missionaries and Naked Natives - A Deck’s Eye View of Cape Horn, published by Basic Books. In the book Dallas Murphy chronicled the history of Cape Horn by recounting his trip there in 2000 and the voyages of others including Magellan, Darwin, and Drake to the southernmost point of South America. The author explained to book club members that he sailed to Cape Horn from Argentina and detailed the various dangers he faced along the way. Mr. Murphy responded to questions and comments from members of the book club, which meets at the Union League Club. close
