President Bush and the first lady visited the Gulf Coast region on the president’s eighth trip to the area since Hurricane Katrina hit on August 29, 2005. They visited a Habitat for Humanity site in Covington, Louisiana, President Bush spoke at DeLisle Elementary School in Pass Christian, Mississippi and he made brief remarks to the troops at the U.S. Naval Air Station in Belle Chasse, Louisiana. close
