Former Commissioner Wood and others talked about women’s health issues and reproductive health policy. They focused on the use of “Plan B” or the “Morning After Pill” as a means of birth control, the safety of the drug, the drug approval process at the Food and Drug Administration, and scientific research into the contraceptive. Ms. Wood also talked about her decision to resign from the FDA after the method was rejected despite scientific recommendations to the contrary and political decision-making by Bush administration officials. Following prepared remarks the panel answered questions from the audience. close
