Eric Burns talked about his book Infamous Scribblers: The Founding Fathers and the Rowdy Beginnings of American Journalism, published by Public Affairs. In his book he recounts the impact of colonial newspapers on early American culture. The author explained that since Boston’s Publick Occurrences newspaper of the 1690's, the founding fathers continuously made headlines and were subject to both character assassinations and outright fabrications. He also responded to questions from members of the audience. close
