Jules Witcover was interviewed at The Hill's 4th Annual Political Book Fair about his book The Making of an Ink-Stained Wretch: Half a Century Pounding the Political Beat, published by the Johns Hopkins University Press. He described how he initially wanted to be a sports writer but came to work in political commentary. He talked about his experiences covering politics and his work for a news house. Mr. Witcover said the first political campaign he covered was for President Eisenhower. He also said he was concerned with the discipline and sense of responsibility of bias in weblogs. close
