Outside of the BookTV Bus, Brigadier General Ware was interviewed about a book he co-wrote, By Duty Bound: Survival and Redemption in a Time of War, published by Dutton. He discussed his beginnings in the U.S. Marine Corps, military recruitment, and the collaboration effort in writing the book. General Ware also recounted his career as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot, being shot down in Vietnam, and his experience with a co-pilot who was a former member of the Ku Klux Klan. close
