Chairman Greenspan testified about the economic outlook, the effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita on energy prices, employment, and production in the near term. He said that despite labor and price troubles brought on by the hurricanes, the economy continued a solid expansion. Chairman Greenspan also spoke about the need to craft a budget strategy and how the future performance of the economy depended on the budgetary decision. close
