In an annual ceremony to commemorate Veterans Day Vice President Dick Cheney laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He then delivered remarks at a remembrance ceremony at Memorial Amphitheater in Arlington National Cemetery. In his remarks he thanked veterans for their loyal service and praised service members stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. He also singled out several members of the audience, including Emiliano Mercado del Toro, believed to be the oldest man in the world at 114.
