Poverty and World Trade
British Prime Minister Tony Blair focused on international trade and poverty in his annual speech to the Lord Mayor’s Banquet in London. In his speech delivered to invited guests of the Lord Mayor and other dignitaries in Guildhall, a historic building in London’s financial district, he called on western countries to cut subsidies to farmers to provide developing countries a better chance of selling their agricultural products on the world market. close
