Mr. Kristol talked about a book he edited, The Weekly Standard: A Reader: 1995-2005, published by HarperCollins. He said that the book was published to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Then Mr. Hayes joined him to speak about stories that appeared in the Weekly Standard. Following their remarks, Mr. Kristol responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. Among the topics he addressed were the nomination of Judge Samuel Alito to the U.S. Supreme Court and the definition of conservatism in 2005.
