Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin and members of his cabinet took questions from members on a number of issues including recent political scandals involving advertising firms and kickbacks to the Liberal Party. The leader of the Conservative opposition was expected to introduce a no-confidence motion in the House of Commons as a result of the scandals. Questioning was often heated and focused on a number of domestic issues that opposition leaders were trying to use to rally support for their challenge to the prime minister.
