Following brief remarks by Representative Nadler, Senator Leahy, ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, spoke to reporters about the Patriot Act conference report. He discussed provisions of the agreement, saying there was not enough protection of constitutional freedoms. He recommended that Congress wait 3 months to improve the bill.
