House and Senate Democrats held an end-of-year rally to discuss items on the legislative agenda. Representative Pelosi congratulated newly elected Democratic Caucus Chairman James Clyburn (D-SC) and newly appointed Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ). They discussed energy costs, “culture of corruption” of the Republican Party, the war in Iraq, and the filibuster of the reauthorization of the Patriot Act. Senator Reid used a green gift box with red bow tie as a prop to emphasize “gifts” given to special interests from the GOP Congress. He relabeled the gift tag “To All Americans, From Democratic Congress.” close
