Mr. Aron talked about the one-year anniversary of the “Orange Revolution” in the Ukraine. On December 3, 2004, following massive protests, the Supreme Court of Ukraine declared the presidential election invalid and ordered a rerun. In the rerun, Viktor Yushchenko, the “hero of the Orange Revolution,” was elected on December 26th. He was sworn in promising economic growth, an end to corruption, and a rapid integration into western political and economic structures. Mr. Aron also responded to audience telephone calls, faxes, and electronic mail. close
