Mr. McClellan spoke to reporters about rescue efforts for 13 miners trapped on January 2, 2006 in a West Virginia coal mine. He also talked about reauthorization of the Patriot Act. Following his remarks, he responded to questions and comments from the reporters. Among the topics he addressed was the guilty plea by former Indian lobbyist Jack Abramoff. Mr. McClellan told reporters that what Mr. Abramoff reportedly acknowledged doing was “outrageous.” He also discussed NSA authorization and domestic surveillance. close
