Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter spoke to reporters about the confirmation hearings for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Samuel A. Alito, Jr. Among the topics he talked about were the nominee’s responses to questioning and a request by Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA) to subpoena the “Rusher papers.” The documents involved William A.
