Mr. Jackson spoke about a new memorial honoring civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr., which will be located on the northwest side of the tidal basin between the Lincoln and Jefferson memorials. He spoke about the “Mountain of Despair” and the “Stone of Hope” in the design of the architect. Groundbreaking for the memorial is expected in the fall of 2006. close
