Susan Butler talked about her book My Dear Mr. Stalin: The Complete Correspondence of Franklin D. Roosevelt and Joseph V. Stalin, published by Yale University Press. It is a comprehensive look at the letters the two leaders wrote to one another over a four-year period. President Roosevelt sent the first letter to Soviet leader Joseph Stalin after the Nazi’s 1941 attack on the Soviet Union. The letters between the two leaders continued until Roosevelt’s final letter sent on the day of his death in 1945. Following her presentation, Ms. Butler responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. close
