General Hayden talked about domestic surveillance efforts by the intelligence community and National Security Agency and defended the Bush administration’s warrantless eavesdropping on calls and emails between the U.S. and overseas. He said the program was “targeted and focused” on potential terrorist threats and hinted at some of the classified programs and methods employed in the efforts.
