A January 19 interview with Lane Filler, a city reporter with the Spartanburg Herald-Journal, on the topic of Senator John McCain’s (R-AZ) January 16 visit to Spartanburg, South Carolina where he spoke at the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tribute.
Also on January 16 Rick Beltram, Spartanburg County Republican Party’s chairman, was interviewed about Senator McCain’s visit and his prospects as a presidential candidate. In the 2000 Republican primary Senator McCain lost by a 62-38 per cent margin in the Spartanburg area.
