Attorney General Gonzales spoke to students about law enforcement efforts to combat global terrorism and defended the Bush administration’s use of intelligence assets to perform domestic surveillance operations. He talked about the security needs for the programs as well as the legal basis for such activity. During his remarks several students stood and turned the back on the attorney general in protest of the policy. close
