Mr. Wiesel, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, spoke on “Learning and Tolerance,” in one of a series of lectures sponsored by B’nai B’rith International. Mr. Wiesel, journalist and author, defined learning as the opposite of intolerance. He discussed the necessity to instill respect for the individual, and the importance of truth and compassion in personal and international relations. He also discussed the current state of Jews in Eastern Europe, and said the intolerance shown Jews in Rumania is dangerous and does not yield to argument. close
