A panel discussion was held on the effects of the conflicts in Iraq on mental health and substance use among Iraqis and U.S. soldiers. Experts discussed diagnosis and treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder among civilians and soldiers. They also spoke about the neglect of the Saddam Hussein government in keeping statistics, as well as terrorist targeting of intellectuals and health care providers. Following their discussion, the panelists responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. Professor Humphreys moderated the panel. close
