Freelance journalist Laila Al-Shemmary was interviewed by telephone about the interviews she did in December 2005 with several Iraqi women. Al-Shouhada, or Martyr’s Quarter, is a neighborhood in southwest Baghdad where she interviewed several Iraqi women about their lives. These interviews are with the two wives of a man killed last summer in Al-Shouhada, allegedly by terrorists. close
