They arrived in Kuwait on January 20 and spent the day at meetings and on visits to different military and civilian sites. The delegation met with almost 20 Kuwaiti women political activists and potential candidates for office. Kuwaiti women had just obtained the right to vote in the upcoming 2007 parliamentary elections.
Led by Rep. Ros-Lehtinen, the bipartisan group also included Reps. Lynch, Platts, and Gerlach. A C-SPAN video journalist accompanied them during their five-day visit to the region, as they traveled first to Kuwait for a day, then to Iraq for the next two days, and to Afghanistan for the final two days.
