The Senate Armed Services Committee held a hearing on the Fiscal Year 2007 defense authorization request. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Peter Pace testified about the status of current operations and readiness, personnel and equipment needs, and the current situation in Iraq.
