Through Their Eyes: Foreign Correspondents in the U.S.

Stephen Hess talked about his book Through Their Eyes: Foreign Correspondents in the United States, published by Brookings Institution Press. Mr. Hess, senior fellow emeritus at the Brookings Institution, talked about what foreign correspondents working in the U.S. think about their work. He read short selections from his book describing what life is like for these correspondents and discussed the previous books he has written about foreign and domestic journalism. Through Their Eyes is the sixth volume in his Newswork series, an award-winning examination of the unique web of relationships that exist between the government and the media. After his presentation, Mr. Hess answered questions from members of the audience. close
