Students from Pace University, the University of Denver, and The Cable Center participated by broadband feed in a distance learning class. Students from Dillard University and two other New Orleans universities were watching the program online.

Chris Malone, Professor of Political Science at Pace University interviewed Alan Colon Professor of African American Studies at Dillard University. Senator Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) was in the C-SPAN studio. Professor Colon and Senator Landrieu answered students' questions about Hurricane Katrina, the failure of federal and local government response to the crisis, the lack of preparations, and the long-term implications of the storm’s damage, particularly for New Orleans.

Video clips of C-SPAN programming were shown to illustrate some points.
