Blair Levin was chief of staff at the Federal Communications Commission during the development of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. He talked about the impact of the federal law during the past decade, the growth in wireless technology, changes in network architecture and current regulatory proposals. Mr. Levin also commented on broadband deployment and the expanded role of online search engines such as Google and Yahoo. Mr. Levin is managing director and telecommunications analyst for Stifel Nicolas, an investment banking firm.
