The Senate Armed Services Committee held a hearing on current and future worldwide threats to national security. Witnesses testified about various potential threats and particularly on port security. They responded to several questions about the approval of a sale of port terminal assets to Dubai Port World and a review process that had recently been agreed to by the company and Bush administration. They also talked about cooperation with the United Arab Emirates on efforts to combat global terrorism and various security measures implemented at seaports in the U.S. and abroad to prevent terrorist incidents.
