House Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing and Community Opportunity held a hearing on Gulf Coast rebuilding. Donald Powell, Federal Coordinator for Gulf Coast Rebuilding in the Department of Homeland Security, testified about a number of issues including the status of recovery and reconstruction efforts, cooperation between federal, state and local agencies, temporary housing programs for the displaced, and challenges ahead in both funding and coordination of resources. close
