Senator Biden and Mr. Podesta talked about operations in Iraq and the Bush administration’s strategies and policies over the past three years since the invasion of the country. Among the issues he addressed were the current levels of sectarian violence and resistance by insurgent forces, levels of U.S. troop deployments to Iraq, challenges to political stability and security, and the need for a more realistic appraisal of both the security threats and future challenges to reconstruction efforts. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
