Moderated by Professor Stuart Blumin, the panelists discussed the topic, “The New Electoral Map: From the Gingrich Revolution to 2008.” Topics included Republican and Democratic ("red and blue") states in the context of the 2006 midterm elections, President Bush’s lower poll numbers, gerrymandering in the last ten years, changing control of the U.S. House, incumbency, polling procedures, and voter demographics. Some statistical charts were shown. After their discussion, the panelists answered audience members' questions.
