One of the third prize-winning videos, Domestic Surveillance and Its Effect on the American Public, was produced by Kaitlin Trinkle, Kimberly Trinkle, and Kaela Jennings, 12th grade students at Hilliard Davidson High School in Hilliard, Ohio. The video examined the current controversy about the domestic surveillance of international communications by the National Security Agency.

C-SPAN Classroom’s StudentCam video documentary contest was a national competition in which middle and high school students produced a documentary exploring a current political topic using some C-SPAN footage and covering multiple viewpoints. The local cable company was Time Warner Cable. close
