At an event on reconstruction efforts and emergency preparedness following Gulf Coast hurricanes keynote addresses were made by Representative Tom Davis and by former Director of FEMA James Lee Witt. Following the addresses, a panel on “Rebuilding and Protecting the U.S. Gulf Coast” was moderated by Janet Powell. Among the topics addressed were the costs of reconstruction, long-term recovery strategies, and the role of the public and private sector in future reconstruction. close
